Visiting orphanages

Pack for a Purpose does not condone visiting orphanages, as this can often lead to negative impacts on children. The accommodation or tour company working with the orphanage will deliver the supplies in a coordinated and respectful way so that the children can benefit from them. Your generosity is not diminished because you do not interact with the children.

Project Description

Variety – the Children’s Charity of Barbados Inc. is dedicated to improving the lives of children who are mentally, physically or socially disadvantaged. The Aunty Olga Memorial School Aid Programme, supported by Variety, provides school uniforms, books, backpacks and school supplies to over 300 children from 200 families across Barbados, giving them an equal opportunity at education.

Ocean Acres Animal Sanctuary provides sanctuary for around 200 dogs and 250 cats, but there are thousands still out there suffering. The sanctuary is financed solely by donations and fundraising initiatives.
