Accommodation

Visiting orphanages
Pack for a Purpose does not condone visiting orphanages, as this can often lead to negative impacts on children. The accommodation or tour company working with the orphanage will deliver the supplies in a coordinated and respectful way so that the children can benefit from them. Your generosity is not diminished because you do not interact with the children.

Project Description

In the remote region of Darién in eastern Panama, the Canopy Family has been working with the community of Nuevo Vigia Embera since 2014. The community has embraced and joined us in our ecotourism efforts in many ways, yet still live with only basic necessities. The Canopy Family would like to assist Nuevo Vigia further by providing general supplies and useful daily items (which are difficult to get to the community otherwise) to enrich the lives of the community members.
