Project Description
The School of the Amazon offers free workshops that aim to put children from ages 8 through 10 years old in direct contact with the Amazon rainforest. Despite living in the Amazon biome, many children do not know the forest and the project aims to create a positive awareness of the beauty of this ecosystem. The one-day workshops are conducted in a forest fragment preserve. Students perform walks, observations of fauna and ora, do artistic activities, and observe group dynamics in the forest, making their environment more familiar and fun.
