Judi and Harry’s Story

Delivering supplies in Grenada

I saw an article about Pack for a Purpose in Traveler magazine and checked out the website. I was amazed with what can happen with just using an unused area of my suitcase. My husband and I and another couple went on a cruise that was stopping in Grenada, so we packed two extra suitcases with items for the schools there.

Sunsation Tours helped us to go to the school and actually present the items ourselves. We took lots of books, soccer balls, glue sticks, workbooks, crayons, colored pencils, etc. I got many of the “gently used” books from our local library. When I told them what I was purchasing the books for, they gave me extras to take. The children were so happy to see the books and supplies, and the sports teacher loved the soccer balls. We plan on definitely doing this again when we travel. And the space where all the books resided on our trip over gave us lots of room to carry home souvenirs. Do this, and you will not regret it. It was totally worthwhile just to see the kids’ big smiles.
