Pack for a Purpose is delighted to introduce one of our four amazing summer interns, Julia Baer!
I am a rising senior at North Carolina State University, majoring in Public Relations and a minoring in Journalism. I am passionate about writing and traveling, and am fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to travel to many other countries with my family, our most frequent destination being Greece. Much of my dad’s side of the family still lives there today. That being said, I have always taken an interest in travel blogs and my dream job would be to travel all over the world and write about my experiences.
In my search for a summer internship to give me some real-world experience in the Writing and Public Relations fields, I applied to dozens of random sales and marketing internships, figuring I would just have to settle for whatever positions I got so that I could build up my resume. I never considered working with a non-profit organization until I came across Pack for a Purpose’s summer internship listing on my school’s job database, and, with just once click on the headline, I knew I had finally found something that was truly worth my time. Interning at Pack for a Purpose has already taught me many of the skills that I will need for any career I may pursue after graduation, while also giving me the rewarding experience of helping to change lives all over the world.
I hope to continue working with Pack for a Purpose throughout my senior year of college and even after graduation. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to work with such a wonderful organization!
