Theresa’s Story

Theresa's Story

I have traveled to nearly 60 countries in my lifetime, and it’s unfortunate to just now discover the Pack for Purpose organization! I always try to integrate passion and purpose into all of my personal and professional endeavors – and giving back has always been a way of life for me.

It’s the least I could do, as the world has been very kind to me and my family ever since 1975 when my family and I came to America after the Vietnam War. “Paying it forward” has been instilled in my blood from that day forward.

I had the opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic recently, and did not want to travel empty handed. There is ALWAYS someone in need out there and all you have to do is make the time.

After extensive research, I linked up with Pack for a Purpose, Not Just Tourists and Fundacion Grupo Punta Cana to bring down a suitcase of medical supplies for hospitals on the island. I am thankful that these professional, charitable organizations exist.

Especially now during times of COVID-19, it is essential that we help our medical workers and healthcare heroes however we can.

Surely, I will be bringing down suitcases of supplies for every trip to every country moving forward.

Travel has now taken on a whole new meaning for me, and I look forward to making a difference – big or small – to local communities and cultures.
